President's Message

Welcome to the Florida Scholastic Hockey League's 14th season of excellence. We can all look back on the accomplishments of the FSHL's previous 13 years with great pride. With each successive season, we continue to elevate the Florida Scholastic Hockey League to new heights. Last year, for the first time, the League joined ranks with the prestigious Hobey Baker Foundation to award the Hobey Baker High School Character Award to a student-athlete from each of the FSHL’s 18 member teams. And, this year, the FSHL is looking forward to hosting the 2 SAHOF HIGH SCHOOL STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS (SAHOF HS TIER I – NATIONAL BOUND – and SAHOF HS TIER II) during the weekend of March 2-4, 2012.

Over 300 people attended the spectacular year-ending FSHL ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET. Mr. Cliff Viner, General Partner, Chairman of the Board, & CEO, FLORIDA PANTHERS spoke to our FSHL student-athletes, coaches, team managers, and parents about “character, character, character”. Mr. Viner stayed to distribute trophies and pose for photos.

Every year marks another FSHL milestone. In this, the League's "14th. SEASON OF EXCELLENCE", the FSHL expects twenty (20) teams will be registered to participate in two divisions. Through all the growth, the FLORIDA SCHOLASTIC HOCKEY LEAGUE remains firmly committed to its goals and ideals. The FSHL is dedicated to providing high school student-athletes with a program that promotes academic discipline, respect for authority and for each other, teamwork, development of physical skills, self-discipline, and self-confidence.
The first 13 years have been exhilarating
The future of High School ice hockey in Florida is bright indeed.
